About the Counselor:
Education: My name is Desiree Williams, and I am excited to be apart of the Newton Elementary Wolverine family! I am a native of the Geneva County School System. I graduated from Geneva County High School in Hartford, Alabama in 1998. After high school, I attended Enterprise State Junior College and eventually transferred to Troy University Dothan Campus. While at Troy, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. In May 2011, I graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Master's in School Counseling and in May 2023, I obtained my Instructional Leadership certification.
Experience: This year begins my 22nd year in education. I have taught at Geneva County Elementary, Samson Elementary, Beverlye Intermediate, and Highlands Elementary prior to coming to Newton. I began teaching kindergarten in 2003, and have also taught 1st-4th grades. I am passionate about supporting students, families, and teachers. We can work together as a team to help students reach their full academic, social, and emotional potential!
Bio: I have been married to Bradley Williams for 12 years. My two boys, Yosef and Caleb attend NES with me. In my spare time, I love to read, sing, and spend time with my family and visiting my parents’ farm in Harford.
